An Irish Mountain House Concert is a rare experience. It's a chance to really listen to live (often) unplugged music by great Canadian artists in a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. It's like having your favorite artists play in your living room, which is, well... pretty much what it is.

From 7:00 to 8:00, you can enjoy refreshments and potluck goodies, have a soft drink, or if you've brought your own, something stronger. If you'd like to relax and enjoy a beverage before the show, please arrive early enough; we like to think the evening's mainly about the music, and we ask that you don't bring drinks into the music room.  At 8:00 sharp, everyone heads upstairs to the music room to grab a chair, sit back and enjoy the music.
Usually, we'll have a first set, followed by an intermission, so you can head down for more refreshments and maybe a chat with one of the artists. Remember to bring money for a new CD or two for your music collection; here's a great chance to get it autographed. Then it's another set, and socializing afterward.
If you're interested, you should send your donation early. We have limited space -- it's small and intimate, remember -- and we usually fill up quickly. I'll confirm receipt of your cheque by email.  If for some reason you can't make the show, you may pass your seat on to friends; we like to meet new people, and newcomers are welcome. Check with us, too, as there may be people on our wait list who can fill your seat.
All the proceeds go to the performers. Why do we do it? It gives us and our friends a chance to hear our favourite performers up close and personal. It gives the artists a chance to play in an intimate setting and earn new fans. And it supports the arts and Canadian culture. It's a lot of work... but it's a lot of fun.
Hope to see you there!
(Those of you from out of town may want to make a weekend of it by checking out some of the local bed and breakfasts)
